Spring Color Trends for 2023: CABERNET
The final color on our list is Cabernet - a rich, moody family of dark reds that provides sophistication and depth to any space. Red is the color of energy, passion, confidence and power. It naturally draws attention, so even in small doses, this color can be really impactful. Using a darker, rustier or richer red (aka CAB) allows you to take full advantage of this fiery hue without feeling like you have a giant stop sign in the middle of your space (unless that is your thing, then definitely GO FOR IT!). We also LOVE pairing any red with a blue to cool it down and provide some contrast and context.
Inspiring interior design examples showcasing the color CABERNET:
01 - @we_are_duet absolutely nails color on every level. We love the impact of this cabernet-colored natural stone coffee table, especially when contrasted by the saturated blue walls and supported by the rust-toned rug.
02 - We love this bathroom designed by @heidicaillierdesign!! The deep indigo tiles are the perfect pairing for the cabernet paint color seen on the pocket door and frame. A lot of cabernet hues have a cooler undertone, and the blue tiles here certainly pick up on that.
03 - Another @we_are_duet space that showcases Cab + Blue - this time, the cab is rusty and faded and the blue has gray-green undertones. Notice how different the vibe is in the two images... the bedroom reads more casual than the living room in the first image, which reads more formal. Textural and material differences def play a huge role in tone here, but the impact and intention of these colors can't be ignored.
04 - How amazing is this kitchen designed by @ashleymontgomerydesign?! A deep cab and a soft robin egg blue is one of my very favorite color combos and it works perfectly here. So current, so elevated, we love.
