Spring Color Trends for 2023: MAUVE

This gorgeous light pinkish-purple is so hot right now! We love the romantic nature of this rich hue and not to be controversial... but we definitely consider Mauve to be the new neutral. Often overlooked due to its typical use in more feminine spaces, Mauve can truly go both modern and traditional. It works just as well on walls as it does in furniture and decor accents and it also has quite the interesting history (check out the gallery below for more info on that!).

Inspiring interior design examples showcasing the color MAUVE:

01 - @jakearnold proves that Mauve can make any space feel warm and cozy. We love the boldness of using this saturated hue on the walls, ceilings, and built ins and we especially like how he pulled this color into the sofa fabric too.

02 - @katieridderinc makes a classic and feminine statement will Mauve walls in this lovely Parisian-feeling sitting space. Brass is the perfect metallic finish to use with Mauve because... hear me out... Purple and Yellow are complementary colors (aka opposite on the color wheel). Mauve is a tint of Purple and Brass has a golden yellow undertone, which makes them naturally complementary!

03 - We love how @heidicaillierdesign used Mauve as a sofa fabric accent in this space. It is the perfect rich contrast to the moody walls and more masculine tone of this room.

04 - This space designed by @kandhdesignltd is a great example of why we think Mauve is the new neutral - the walls support the bold, modern color palette of the poppy art and furniture. This would still be a lovely space with white walls, but doesn't the Mauve give it some serious energy?!

What are your thoughts? We are currently shopping for some Mauve accents for our office space!
