Spring Color Trends for 2023: BUTTER

Up next on our current color trend list is Butter - a soft but rich pale yellow hue. If the thought of adding the color yellow to your space gives you pause, then BUTTER is the hue for you! Yellow symbolizes happiness, optimism, clarity and creativity. Selecting a more muted and earthy yellow (AKA Butter), is a modern way to reap the benefits of yellow in your next interior design project or home renovation.

Inspiring interior design examples showcasing the color BUTTER:

All four of these beautifully designed spaces have something in common, aside from showcasing the color "Butter"... can you guess what it is? Scroll down to the end for the answer!

How buttery and yummy are the walls in this living room designed by @gachotstudios?! This color is the perfect backdrop for the richness and depth of the upholstered pieces in this space. We also love the repetition created through the varying shades of yellow - walls, art, golden sofa, brass accents.

The most cheerful yellow kitchen designed by @themisfithouse! We are completely on board for bringing yellow kitchens back for 2023 and this is the way to do it... a soft buttery hue is the perfect accent for the bright white tile/countertops and warm brass fixtures. We love the light switch cutout detail too. Bonus: Yellow has been shown to increase appetite (hence its usage in a ton of fast food logos!).

Check out this subtle pop of Butter in @flackstudio_'s living room they designed for @troyesivan. We have been seeing these buttery light fixtures all over lately and love the balance between organic and architectural lines. Adding a new hue into your space through a light fixture, art or a pillow is a cost effective way to test out a new color in your home.

Such a serene and peaceful space designed by @lucywilliamshome. We love how she used variations of yellow to create a space that is both saturated and restful.

Answer to the question at the top of this post: ALL of these spaces share a few things in common. They each showcase curves in the design. And they all have at least two shades of yellow!
